From Paper Decisions to Registration: A Guide to SC26 in July and Beyond

poster reception

Summer may be in full swing, but July is when anticipation turns into action on the road to SC26. Whether awaiting paper decisions, planning your personal conference experience, or exploring new opportunities, this month is packed with milestones.

Now is the time to get involved and be part of what makes SC26 exceptional.

July Milestones

Paper Notifications

The month kicked off with one of the most anticipated milestones for researchers: technical paper notifications. After months of peer review, authors learned if their work was accepted for SC26. Accepted papers mark the beginning of presentation preparations, while reviewer feedback provides valuable insights for future research.

SIGHPC Immersion NOtifications

Applicants to the Special Interest Group on High Performance Computing (SIGHPC) Immersion Program received their decisions on July 3. The program supports students through mentorship, professional development, and financial assistance, helping broaden participation in the HPC community.

Registration Opens

Conference registration officially opened on July 8. To attend technical sessions, tutorials, workshops, posters, or the exhibition, registering early helps secure your spot to start planning your SC26 experience.

SC Illuminations

The SC Illuminations program reaches its full-consideration deadline on July 19. The program supports students and early-career professionals by expanding access to opportunities within the SC community.

AE appendix / Badge Application

Artifact Evaluation (AE) Appendix (optional) and Badge Application (mandadory) deadline for researchers seeking reproducibility recognition.

Fellowship Notifications

Applicants to the ACM SIGHPC Fellowships in Computational and Data Science will receive notification of fellowship decisions on July 30, supporting the next generation of computational scientists.

Mentor–Protégé Sign-Ups Open

The month concludes with early sign-ups for Mentor-Protégé Matching. The program pairs first-time attendees with experienced SC participants, helping newcomers navigate the conference, build connections, and make the most of their SC26 experience.

Looking Beyond July

Posters / Art of HPC Deadline

The momentum continues into August. August 1 is the submission deadline for all SC26 Poster tracks and the Art of HPC showcase. For anyone planning to submit a poster but not be sure which track best fits, be sure to read SC26 Posters: Choosing the Right Track for an overview of each category and tips to help select the right track before the deadline.

Exhibitor Forum

Have an innovative idea, breakthrough technology, or compelling success story to share? Help shape this year’s Exhibitor Forum by showcasing the hot topics at the forefront of HPC. Engage with the HPC community, highlight your expertise, and spark meaningful conversations. Presentations last 20 minutes and are followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Submit your talk idea by August 7.

Birds of a feather Notifications

Birds of a Feather (BoF) notifications are sent on August 22. These interactive sessions bring the community together to exchange ideas, discuss emerging topics, and spark future collaborations.
